Drowning in documents? Read on.

At any given time, there can be several versions of the same document making their way through a legal practice, with various red lines, updates, and citations.

And with workloads increasing and resources scarce, it can be hard to keep track of it all.

According to Dr. Cain Elliot, “the human brain is not meant for keeping track of that kind of stuff.”

But tech is.

Elliot, the head legal futurist at FileVine, sat down with Non-Eventcast host Jared Correia to talk about contract management software and help legal professionals better understand its benefits.

As Elliot told the Non-Eventcast: “Most of legal work is happening all the time in documents. They’re rich artifacts and living statements that we utilize to do the work. They’re the tools of the trade.”

The job of contract lifecycle management software (CLM) is to sharpen these tools and, as Elliot explains, get rid of the divide between a database and a document.

“The more we’re doing to improve the core of the tools of the trade, the better we’re doing as an organization and the more fun it is for all of us,” he says.

So how does a CLM help you make improvements and add more fun?
