{"id":100275,"date":"2025-01-14T09:03:59","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T17:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xira.com\/p\/2025\/01\/14\/agiloft-acquires-screens-ai-contract-review-technology-based-on-expert-built-playbooks\/"},"modified":"2025-01-14T09:03:59","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T17:03:59","slug":"agiloft-acquires-screens-ai-contract-review-technology-based-on-expert-built-playbooks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xira.com\/p\/2025\/01\/14\/agiloft-acquires-screens-ai-contract-review-technology-based-on-expert-built-playbooks\/","title":{"rendered":"Agiloft Acquires Screens, AI Contract Review Technology Based On Expert-Built Playbooks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The contract lifecycle management company Agiloft today said it has acquired Screens, developer of a generative AI contract review and redlining product that uses expert-created and auto-generated playbooks to \u201cscreen\u201d and redline contracts. \u201cThis strategic acquisition will enhance Agiloft\u2019s data-first Agreement Platform and contract management capabilities, by standardizing the contract review process, promoting consistency, and [\u2026]<\/p>\n<p>The contract lifecycle management company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agiloft.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Agiloft<\/a> today said it has acquired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.screens.ai\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Screens<\/a>, developer of a generative AI contract review and redlining product that uses expert-created and auto-generated playbooks to \u201cscreen\u201d and redline contracts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis strategic acquisition will enhance Agiloft\u2019s data-first Agreement Platform and contract management capabilities, by standardizing the contract review process, promoting consistency, and unlocking the value of contract data with the collective expertise of a global community of legal professionals,\u201d Agiloft said in announcing the acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>Screens was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2024\/01\/termscout-launches-screens-first-of-its-kind-marketplace-for-lawyers-to-build-and-sell-contract-review-ais.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launched in January 2024<\/a> by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/termscout.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TermScout<\/a>, an AI contract review company, as a first-of-its-kind AI marketplace where lawyers and other contracting experts could build and sell their own contract review AIs, developed based on their unique expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The idea, TermScout CEO and Screens founder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/ottohanson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Otto Hanson<\/a> told me at the time, was to provide lawyers with an opportunity turn their expertise from a service into a product, while enabling those reviewing contracts to get a contract review AI tailored to their specific use case.<\/p>\n<p>For the legal teams who are its customers, Agiloft said the acquisition of Screens will bring three major benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standards-based reviews and redlining. Screens enables customers to use an easily-configurable playbook \u2014 which it calls a Screen \u2014 to quickly assess whether a contract meets pre-defined internal standards and receive GenAI-driven suggestions when they do not.<\/li>\n<li>Community. While Screens users can create their own playbooks, the product also provides access to a community of experts who have published an array of custom-crafted playbooks. These custom playbooks are freely available to Screens users, and can be used to evaluate contracts based on the knowledge of experienced experts.<\/li>\n<li>Market data. As playbooks are used by Screens\u2019 customers, the system tracks pass and failure rates. This data gives users context.
