A new survey of nearly 2,000 participants flagged by Legal Dive<\/a> reveals that about 45% of U.S. workers report being subject to an NDA.<\/p>\n

Conducted by Penn State University and Lift Our Voices, the survey also shows many being subject to other restrictive covenants like class action waivers (43%), mandatory arbitration agreements (39%), and noncompetes (22%), Legal Dive reported. <\/p>\n

Union membership, meanwhile, fell to a record low<\/a>, according to new Bureau of Labor Statistics data<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2024, 9.9% of workers were covered by unions \u2014 down from 20.1% in 1983, the earliest year with comparable data. In the private sector, only 5.9% of workers were in unions last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
