Anyone who says that obviously the 22nd Amendment will deter Trump from trying for a third term has been living on a different planet than the one I\u2019ve been living on.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 <\/i>\u00a0Ian Bassin<\/a>, who served as an associate White House counsel for President Barack Obama and is now the executive director of Protect Democracy, a nonprofit advocacy group, in comments given to Politico<\/a>, on how President Donald Trump could try to serve a third term in the White House, despite the Constitutional edict against doing so that\u2019s provided in the 22nd Amendment. \u201cThe court\u2019s gonna tell the Republican Party that they can\u2019t run their candidate? I don\u2019t think so,\u201d Bassin said<\/em>.<\/p>\n
