Yes, she pleaded guilty to to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/24041662\/sidney-powell-deft-waiver-of-indictment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">six misdemeanor counts<\/a>\u00a0of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties. But the Texas Board of Disciplinary Appeals confirmed they dismissed the motion for compulsory discipline brought by the state\u2019s Commission for Lawyer Discipline in June, after Powell\u2019s guilty plea.<\/p>\n<p>The compulsory discipline action happens when a member of the bar has been convicted, pleads no contest or has been put on probation for a \u201cserious or intentional crime.\u201d As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law360.com\/articles\/2291749\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported by<\/a> Law 360:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The commission argued in its June petition that Powell\u2019s offenses qualified as both intentional and serious crimes under the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure. Under the rules, intentional crimes include any serious crime that requires \u201cproof of knowledge or intent,\u201d while serious crimes include barratry, misdemeanor theft or embezzlement, and \u201cany felony involving moral turpitude.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Powell\u2019s team pointed to the fact that, according to the plea agreement, the misdemeanor counts \u201care not crimes of moral turpitude.\u201d Something Above the Law\u2019s own Liz Dye <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2023\/10\/the-kraken-cracks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pointed to back in 2023<\/a> as Powell\u2019s get-out-of-sanctions card.<\/p>\n<p>Powell\u2019s attorney,\u00a0Robert H.
