And the federal bench has, thus far, responded admirably.<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/serial-judge-shopper-elon-musk-rails-against-others-judge-shopping-which-they-arent\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Judge<\/a> after <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/judge-told-trump-and-musk-to-follow-the-law-for-a-week-theyre-calling-it-tyranny\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">judge<\/a> \u2014 even those <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/reagan-judge-gets-poetic-in-slapping-down-donald-trumps-effort-to-rewrite-the-constitution\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">appointed by Republicans<\/a> \u2014 are holding <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/01\/judge-nukes-funding-freeze-after-press-secretary-admitted-new-legal-defense-was-bogus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the constitutional line<\/a> and blocking, or <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/01\/reagan-judge-tells-donald-trump-thats-not-at-all-how-the-constitution-works\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">at least pausing<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/white-house-press-sec-scores-another-own-goal-in-funding-fcktussle\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">maneuvering<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But the right <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/alina-habbas-interesting-take-on-the-separation-of-powers-sparks-ridicule\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">doesn\u2019t like that<\/a> \u2014 like, at all. And there\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/elon-musk-is-coming-for-biglaw\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a wave of attacks<\/a>, mercifully rhetorical, against judges and the legal system. It\u2019s led <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/law-professor-calls-out-the-trump-doomsday-scenario\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">some to wonder \u2014 and fear <\/a>\u2014 what exactly will happen if the Trump administration pulls a Bartleby the Scrivener and just\u2026 prefers not to follow a court order.<\/p>\n<p>That (increasingly likely) scenario is not super concerning to one person \u2014 Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
