Earlier this week, more than 400 people who had applied to W&amp;M received the exciting news that they\u2019d been accepted to the Top 50 law school. Unfortunately the excitement didn\u2019t last too long, because all of those acceptance letters were apparently sent in error.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtkr.com\/news\/in-the-community\/historic-triangle\/more-than-400-william-mary-law-school-applicants-receive-incorrect-acceptance-letters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">WTKR News 3<\/a>, incorrect acceptance letters were sent to 410 applicants due to a \u201ctechnical issue.\u201d Thankfully, the mistake was caught quickly, and according to <a href=\"https:\/\/law.wm.edu\/about\/ouradministration\/deansoffice\/dean-issa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Issa DiSciullo<\/a>, associate dean for J.D. Admissions and Financial Aid, those applicants were informed \u201cwithin minutes\u201d as to their actual status with the school.<\/p>\n<p>DiSciullo offered the following statement on the situation, which must have been devastating for some who received the erroneous acceptances:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWilliam &amp; Mary Law School deeply values every applicant and understands the significant effort and anticipation that goes into the admissions process,\u201d DiSciullo said. \u201cWe recognize the emotional impact of such an error, and we are taking immediate steps to prevent it from happening again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The law school says that is working to ensure \u201cgreater accuracy\u201d in all of its communications to applicants.<\/p>\n<p>William &amp; Mary Law may deeply regret this mistake, but that doesn\u2019t do much for those whose law school dreams were dashed.
