We just didn\u2019t know how bad it would get. The answer \u2014 as Clemenza put in <em>The Godfather<\/em> \u2014 pretty goddamn bad.<\/p>\n<p>The new test employing Kaplan questions and administered by Meazure Learning suffered setback after setback in the lead up to the test, prompting the bar examiners to preemptively\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/california-bar-exam-disaster-reaches-its-offer-everyone-a-refund-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">offer refunds<\/a>\u00a0and then <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/02\/buy-one-get-one-free-cal-bar-exams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a free retake<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Were they overreacting? Friends, they were not.<\/p>\n<p>Trouble began right out of the gate, with candidates reporting start times delayed by over an hour. Ensuring a fair and reliable exam experience is our top priority, and we are actively evaluating next steps.<\/p>\n<p>In advance of the exam, the State Bar took measures to ensure that a makeup opportunity would be available, if needed, for applicants who experienced significant technical issues. As such, we had already planned to offer a makeup opportunity on March 3 and 4 for those of you who had experienced technical issues beyond your control and were unable to connect to the platform and launch the exam as well as for those who were unable to complete the exam.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Already.
