The platform, which combines artificial intelligence with behavioral science to guide professionals in their client relationship management, was [\u2026]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intapp.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Intapp<\/a>, a global company that provides cloud-based software tailored to legal, accounting and financial services firms, has unveiled DealCloud Activator, an AI-enabled growth platform designed to help professional services firms adopt and sustain successful business development practices.<\/p>\n<p>The platform, which combines artificial intelligence with behavioral science to guide professionals in their client relationship management, was announced during the publicly traded company\u2019s (NASDAQ:INTA) inaugural Amplify 2025 product event in New York City yesterday, alongside several other AI-focused enhancements to the company\u2019s product suite, all focused on the theme of using AI to enhance firm growth and competitive advantage.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Note: I did not attend the event in person but watched the live stream.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Designed based on research that will appear in the forthcoming book <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3QCf5aI\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Activator Advantage: What Today\u2019s Rainmakers Do Differently<\/em><\/a>, DealCloud Activator aims to help firms better align business development efforts with strategic goals, successfully integrate new lateral partners, and drive sustained firmwide growth by embedding business development enablement into professionals\u2019 daily workflows, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntapp DealCloud Activator breaks business development down from a nebulous concept into a handful of simple tasks each day,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/erin-guinan-39416615\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Erin Guinan<\/a>, general manager of DealCloud. \u201cIt enables each professional to adopt and maintain Activator behaviors \u2014 driving consistency in BD activities, creating and maintaining connections, and delivering the right idea at the right time \u2014 at scale across the firm.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018The Activator Advantage\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>During yesterday\u2019s conference presentation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/laura-saklad\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Laurie Saklad<\/a>, Intapp\u2019s vice president, legal industry, said that DealCloud Activator addresses two key problems: influencing professionals to adopt productive business development behaviors when command-and-control management doesn\u2019t work, and giving leaders tools to monitor and adapt AI for effective coaching within their firm\u2019s culture.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49057\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lawnext.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Intapp-Laura-Saklad.png?ssl=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49057\" class=\"wp-image-49057 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lawnext.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Intapp-Laura-Saklad-1024x576.png?resize=1024%2C576&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-49057\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Laurie Saklad unveils DealCloud Activator and its Signals feature driven by behavioral science research.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The platform uses \u201cnudges\u201d \u2014 called \u201cSignals\u201d in Intapp\u2019s product \u2014 grounded in behavioral science to encourage small, incremental improvements that accumulate over time, she told the audience. \u201cGiven the size of the firms that you all work in, even modest individual improvements can have a significant cumulative impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a video testimonial shown during the event, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orrick.com\/en\/People\/8\/5\/E\/Mitchell-Zuklie\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mitchell Zuklie<\/a>, chairman of Orrick, endorsed the activator approach, calling it \u201cgame-changing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntapp is coming along with a technology toolkit designed with these insights and that\u2019s incredibly exciting,\u201d Zuklie said. \u201cThere\u2019s no better investment that we can make than helping our activators be more successful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Underpinning the design of the product is research (which Intapp helped fund) conducted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rorychanner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rory Channer<\/a>, co-founder of DCMI Insights and a co-author of <em>The Activator Advantage<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at yesterday\u2019s event, he said that professionals who follow the \u201cactivator\u201d approach are 32% more successful growing books of business than non-activators. Every high-performing partner identified in their study used technology to support their business development efforts, he said, making the integration with DealCloud a natural extension of their research.<\/p>\n<p>Among the features of DealCloud Activator described during yesterday\u2019s presentation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relationship and opportunity signals that alert users to changes in key relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Behavioral nudges providing timely reminders of best next actions.<\/li>\n<li>Tech stack integration with email and LinkedIn.<\/li>\n<li>Holistic data integration combining third-party data with proprietary firm history.<\/li>\n<li>Network management visualization.<\/li>\n<li>Personalized updates.<\/li>\n<li>Embedded coaching.<\/li>\n<li>Performance metrics dashboards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Other Product Announcements<\/h3>\n<p>Beyond DealCloud Activator, Intapp announced several other enhancements to its product suite during the event, all focused on applying AI to drive growth for professional services firms.<\/p>\n<p>These announcements started off with the unveiling of a redesigned user experience for Intapp products, which will first be rolled out in Intapp\u2019s DealCloud product.<\/p>\n<p>The new interface reduces visual noise, adds more human elements like contact photos and company logos, improves navigation, and incorporates AI assistance for key tasks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/smcleary\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sean McLeary<\/a>, vice president, product experience, told yesterday\u2019s audience.<\/p>\n<p>This updated UX will be available in DealCloud sandboxes immediately, with phased rollout between May and August.<\/p>\n<h3>Enhanced Time Keeping<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/beth-cuzzone\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Beth Cuzzone<\/a>, Intapp\u2019s vice president of global growth marketing, previewed the next generation of Intapp Time, which features cloud-based AI capabilities to help firms reduce time leakage and increase revenue.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49058\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lawnext.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Intapp-Beth-Cuzzone.png?ssl=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49058\" class=\"size-large wp-image-49058\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lawnext.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Intapp-Beth-Cuzzone-1024x576.png?resize=1024%2C576&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-49058\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Beth Cuzzone discusses how Intapp Time can help firms increase revenue.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Among the new features of the system are an activity log that automatically captures daily work activities, voice-to-text functionality for creating time entries, and AI-powered compliance checking against client billing requirements.<\/p>\n<p>These features could help firms capture millions in otherwise lost revenue, Cuzzone said during her presentation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImagine all of the ways that our AI-driven time product will impact the velocity of time to cash at your firm. Said another way, imagine all of the revenue that we can help capture for your firm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This next-generation version will be released this summer, with no migration required. \u201cWe can just turn it on,\u201d Cuzzone said.<\/p>\n<h3>AI Security<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/richardjbowes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Richard Bowes<\/a>, senior compliance growth director for Walls for AI, provided updates on that product, which is Intapp\u2019s security solution for protecting confidential information when using AI and copilots.<\/p>\n<p>New capabilities include managing confidentiality risks in Microsoft OneDrive, identifying and protecting sensitive information across Microsoft 365, and enhanced monitoring of oversharing risks, he said.<\/p>\n<p>In a video testimonial about Walls for AI that was played during the event, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/meredithlwilliams\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meredith Williams-Range<\/a>, chief legal operations officer at Gibson Dunn, said, \u201cThere\u2019s not another product on market that allows us to really protect and govern our data at the nuanced kind of scalpel-esque type of level that we are looking to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Updates to Intapp Assist<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/harrisonben\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Harrison<\/a>, president of financial industries and DealCloud, and Senior Product Manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intapp.com\/profiles\/melanie-fisher\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Melanie Fisher<\/a> spoke about enhancements to Intapp Assist, the company\u2019s AI assistant. These include the launch of Smart Tags, which automatically identify companies and contacts mentioned in text, and Prompt Studio, which allows firms to develop prompts in order to tailor AI capabilities to their unique needs. Assist already includes a library of pre-developed prompts.<\/p>\n<p>Harrison also interviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/david-handler-1886751a\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Handler<\/a>, co-founder of Tidal Partners, who discussed how DealCloud has become his firm\u2019s system of record and how AI features are helping make his team more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>Another new Assist capability previewed yesterday was Assist Origination, an AI-powered tool to help firms find new deals, investors and clients. It will be available to customers starting in May.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAssist with Origination transforms deal sourcing into a strategic advantage,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/abdulrahimsaad\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rudy Saad<\/a>, head of private capital markets at Intapp, said while demonstrating how it can be used by an investment firm. \u201cIt allows firms to focus on the best opportunities and act faster than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While his demonstration was in an investment scenario, he emphasized that the tool is equally useful for law firms.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Intelligence Applied\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>In remarks opening yesterday\u2019s conference, Intapp CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intapp.com\/profiles\/john-hall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">John Hall<\/a> (pictured in the featured image at the top of this article) spoke about the conference theme of \u201cintelligence applied.\u201d He said that growth is the top priority for firm leadership across the professional services industry, and that Intapp\u2019s mission is to enable firms in pursuing that mission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re not growing, you\u2019re dying,\u201d Hall said, after showing a video montage in which three firm leaders said that exact phrase. \u201cWe didn\u2019t script that,\u201d he said, \u201cbut I think that moment really captures the thinking for firms in the industry. There really is, in this entire business model, a growth imperative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because law firms compete based on their knowledge and intellectual capital, artificial intelligence is a critical component of future success, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just self evident if we can successfully complement the human intelligence inherent in the firm with very tangible applications of artificial intelligence,\u201d Hall said, \u201cthat won\u2019t just make people more efficient but, in your business, AI might just be able to make people more competitive with stronger, better, more differentiating intelligence that forms the core of your firm\u2019s strategy and value propositions and your appeal to investors and clients. He emphasized that the true value comes from applying AI to a firm\u2019s unique intellectual capital \u2014 its relationships, experiences, and market understanding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour collective relationships and experiences and dynamic understanding of what\u2019s going on in the market are your IP, it\u2019s the identity of your firm that drives your differentiation and growth,\u201d Jampol said. \u201cThe problem is that most of all that stays locked in the heads of the professionals or at best in an email or a file somewhere.
