And he does NOT hold back. He notes Trump is a \u201cbully\u201d seeking to \u201cpunish\u201d Perkins Coie for their election work for the DNC (which coincidentally Marc Elias took away from the firm) and their involvement with the Steele Dossier. It\u2019s a move Conway calls a \u201cbrazen abuse of government power and unconstitutional.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Conway also calls out Sullivan &amp; Cromwell taking up the Trump criminal case. <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/01\/sullivan-cromwell-attorneys-are-not-happy-the-firm-decided-to-suck-up-to-trump\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Like a bunch of people at the firm itself, <\/a>Conway is not impressed that S&amp;C is repping Trump \u2014 and he has a personal connection to the matter, one of the lawyers on the case was the best man at Conway\u2019s wedding (to former Trump lackey, <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2020\/08\/kellyanne-and-george-conway-exit-stage-right-for-new-adventure-parenting\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kellyanne Conway<\/a>). <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/tag\/george-conway\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">George Conway<\/a> says, \u201cI\u2019ve told him directly to his face that I think it\u2019s a disgrace that he\u2019s representing Donald Trump.\u201d Conway clarified it was actually over text, but he continues saying, \u201cit\u2019s a disgrace and I\u2019m ashamed for him that he is representing Donald Trump in the criminal appeal. And his defense is, \u2018oh I\u2019m just representing him on a criminal appeal.\u2019 Like no, no, no. Because they *should* be reacting to Trump\u2019s efforts to undermine the very rule of law, something that\u2019s historically been very profitable for Biglaw.
