So when firms have decided to fight the EOs \u2014 Perkins Coie, Jenner &amp; Block, WilmerHale, and Susman Godfrey filed lawsuits challenging the orders \u2014 it sparked the interest of many in the legal community. In the Perkins case alone (the oldest of the cases), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perkinscoiefacts.com\/filings?type=Amicus+Briefs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">23 amicus briefs<\/a> have been filed \u2014 law firms, former judges, former national security advisors, solo practitioners, in-house counsel, law professors, media organizations, NGOs, NAACP Legal Defense fund, bar associations, attorneys general have all signed onto briefs that support the challenge to the EO. Even though it\u2019s disappointing <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/04\/the-biglaw-spine-index-track-the-response-to-attacks-on-the-profession\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">many Biglaw firms haven\u2019t answered the call<\/a>, there\u2019s still overwhelming support.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the wide-ranging amicus in the Perkins case, as the cases pile up there are even more folks who want to have their voices heard. The law firm of Kline &amp; Specter\u00a0is<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeAnfRlxDhZbOERiHc3r2XD61cXe3Jnys0FpywQn2e79IJA-g\/viewform\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> circulating a draft amicus brief<\/a> in the<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/04\/granting-susman-godfrey-a-temporary-restraining-order-judge-calls-out-the-cowardly-biglaw-firms-inking-deals-with-trump\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Susman Godfrey case<\/a> on behalf of law students, arguing, \u201cUnless enjoined by the Court, the orders will cause enduring damage to the legal profession and amici as America\u2019s future lawyers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> As<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1b1HjlG5XWLLt5qcKtGicMCU_4K0u_DcG\/view\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> the brief says<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Left alone, the executive order signals a transformation of our legal system.
