Spring has sprung, and you know what that means: we\u2019re now seeking submissions for our annual law revue video contest<\/a>. As far as last year\u2019s submissions are concerned, some of them were funny, some of them were \u201cmeh,\u201d and some of them made us want to close our heads inside of our laptops. Trust us when we say you do NOT want to be in the last category.<\/p>\n

If you think you can carry a tune or tell a joke, we ask that you send us your very best law revue videos so that we \u2014 and the Above the Law audience \u2014 may pass judgment upon them. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the very best.<\/p>\n

Those responsible for the winning video will get Above the Law prizes and the pleasure of knowing they\u2019re the envy of their law school peers. As always, there will be complete and total exoneration for the losers. There\u2019s always next year.<\/p>\n

Before you start sending us your videos, we\u2019ve got some rules. As future members of the legal profession, we hope you\u2019ll be able to follow them.<\/p>\n

  1. Your video must be\u00a0publicly available online<\/strong>\u00a0somewhere. Send us the link at\u00a0[email\u00a0protected]<\/a>\u00a0with the subject line\u00a0\u201cLaw Revue Video Contest Submission \u2013 [School Name].\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0We\u2019ll accept submissions of any videos posted after April 26, 2024 (the deadline for our last contest).<\/li>\n
  2. To avoid complaints from competitors (see, e.g.,\u00a0West Virginia\u2019s 2013 winning entry<\/a>), your primary performers must come from within the law school community (but cameos from outsiders are okay). How do we define a \u201cprimary performer\u201d? Don\u2019t test us, gunners. We\u2019ll know a violation when we see it.<\/li>\n
  3. Send us your submission by\u00a0FRIDAY, APRIL 25, at 5:00 P.M.<\/strong>\u00a0(Eastern time). That\u2019s not a soft, law school deadline; it\u2019s a hard, law firm deadline. (NO EXCEPTIONS<\/strong>, so don\u2019t even try pleading with us; if you\u2019re reading this post after the deadline, you don\u2019t read ATL frequently enough.)<\/li>\n
  4. Your editors here at ATL will make a list of our favorites, the competition finalists, and post them.<\/li>\n
  5. We will\u00a0NOT<\/strong>\u00a0watch videos longer than\u00a05 minutes<\/strong>. Use editing tools, people.<\/li>\n
  6. Please submit\u00a0no more than two entries per school<\/strong>\u00a0(one per school is even better). Try to collaborate with your fellow students and submit no more than two entries. If the leadership of Law Revue can come up with \u201cofficial\u201d submissions, that would be ideal.<\/li>\n
  7. ATL readers will then vote to choose the funniest of the finalists. The winning team will receive ATL prizes (limit five prizes).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
