A federal district court in Tampa will hold a sanctions hearing Thursday involving Gary Cardone, a prominent crypto investor, and one of his companies, Chargebacks 911, over allegations that his employee Ben Scrancher deleted various selected Skype messages, including some a week after the business learned it would face a class action lawsuit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

U.S. District Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington of the Middle District of Florida entered a text order on the docket that said, in scheduling the hearing, she is \u201cdeeply troubled\u201d by the allegations in the plaintiffs\u2019 sanctions motion, \u201cwhich is well-supported by the evidence of the deletion of Skype messages a week after Plaintiffs’ counsel alerted Defendants to impending litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
