Perhaps it is my general outspokenness on and sometimes off the bench. I am also told that some people think I am courageous for the ways in which I engage with litigants and my colleagues in the courtroom.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson<\/a>, in comments given earlier this month, as she accepted the 2025 Truman Good Neighbor Award<\/a> from the Truman Good Neighbor Foundation. As noted by The Gavel blog of The Hill<\/a>, Jackson is by far the most vocal jurist on the bench, having said 75,535 words during oral arguments this term, which is more than 50 percent higher than any of her colleagues.\u00a0Justice Sonia Sotomayor<\/a> is in second place, with 49,448\u00a0words spoken, and Justice Elena Kagan<\/a> is in third place, with 48,188 words spoken. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
