We have more tragic news to report from Texas, where a young associate from a midsize firm recently passed away as a victim of the deadly flash flooding that hit the state.<\/p>\n

Josephine Hardin, a 2023 graduate of Emory Law, was a third-year associate with Atlanta-based litigation firm Huff Powell Bailey. She was visiting family with her parents in Hunt, Texas, over the Fourth of July holiday weekend when disaster struck. Hardin and her mother, Alyson, are still missing and presumed dead. Her father, William, survived the flood.<\/p>\n

As noted by the Daily Report<\/a>, Taylor Tribble, the managing partner of Hardin\u2019s firm, has expressed her deepest sympathies over the associate\u2019s passing:<\/p>\n

Huff Powell Bailey, an 80-lawyer firm specializing in medical defense, first reported Hardin\u2019s death Thursday in a social media post. Tribble said she had been in close contact with the victim\u2019s aunt for updates about the search for Hardin.<\/p>\n

\u201cJosephine was a beloved member of our firm,\u201d the firm\u2019s LinkedIn post stated. \u201cShe was smart and beautifully quirky. She made us laugh out loud, come together, and think deeply about the needs of others.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Tribble praised Hardin in an interview with the Daily Report, calling her \u201cengaging, intuitive and hard-working\u201d and \u201cirreverent and vibrant.\u201d She continued, saying, \u201cShe really has left a lasting impact. We really did lose a bright star in all respects.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cShe just did an excellent job,\u201d Tribble said. \u201cShe was a natural trial lawyer so it\u2019s just a devastating loss for me in that respect, as well.<\/p>\n
