Even before the rank-and-file associates catch wind of anything, there\u2019s usually much discussion and analysis going on at the management level. So when the world\u2019s richest law firm, Kirkland &amp; Ellis, made a change to standard review assessments, it got tongues wagging.<\/p>\n<p>Kirkland recently sent out their associate review questionnaires. And tipsters at the firm noticed a new addition to this year\u2019s form, which asked:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Work Schedule:<\/strong> As a reminder, Firm Policy on in-office attendance is Tuesday through Thursday each week. For the Associate Review, please provide a general description concerning your in-office attendance during the past review period so that the Committee can consider this information when reviewing any in-office data reports and information.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Back in 2022, Kirkland rolled out their <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2022\/02\/kirkland-sends-announcement-to-salary-hungry-associates-about-office-return-date\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">three days-a-week mandate<\/a>, but in 2025, more and more firms are pushing for associates to be<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/07\/major-biglaw-firm-ups-their-in-office-requirement-for-attorneys\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> in the office four <\/a>or even<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/01\/biglaw-firm-breaks-with-trend-requires-associates-to-be-in-office-5-days-a-week\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> five days a week<\/a>.
