Those are the firms that are really competing with [Biglaw] for talent, that\u2019s why their salaries are the same or reaching towards [Biglaw], and the bonuses tend to be significantly higher than in [Biglaw].<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong><em><i>\u2014 <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/edelson.com\/staff\/jay-edelson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Jay Edelson<\/a>, founder of plaintiffs firm Edelson PC, in comments given to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/americanlawyer\/2025\/07\/24\/opaque-starting-salaries-hinder-plaintiffs-firms-as-they-increasingly-vie-with-big-law-for-talent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">American Lawyer<\/a>, concerning compensation transparency at plaintiffs firms. \u201cIt\u2019s only been more recent where plaintiffs firms have been going to [on campus interviews], especially at the top schools, and part of that was that the career services department didn\u2019t really support plaintiffs work,\u201d Edelson continued. \u201cWhen we started going there years ago, we\u2019ve been going for about 15 years, we had to explain that no, we don\u2019t pay $30,000 a year.
