We really have had no departures that were related to the merger. Any departures either firm has seen are just normal attrition in [Biglaw].<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recruiters use that as an opportunity to shake people loose, which is part of their business. If they are good at it, they try to create action. But nothing happened, which bodes well for the merger and how positive the partnership feels about it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 <\/i>Ira Coleman<\/a>, chair of McDermott Will & Emery, in comments given to the American Lawyer<\/a>, concerning attrition ahead of the firm\u2019s merger with Schulte Roth & Zabel, which is expected to close on August 1. Leaders of both firms are still working out the details on who will head up McDermott Will & Schulte and where all of its lawyers will work in Manhattan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
