Judges have gone viral for a litany of reasons: yelling at an elderly man for neglecting his weeds, enslaving children over made-up laws, you get the picture. But far fewer have gone viral for reminding us that authority and care can go hand in hand. Frank Caprio was one of those judges. Known largely for extending grace to residents of Rhode Island, Frank Caprio has recently passed away. BBC<\/a> has coverage:<\/p>\n

US celebrity judge and social media star Frank Caprio has died aged 88, his family has said\u2026 His death following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer was announced on his official Instagram account, where he was remembered for his \u201cwarmth\u201d and \u201cunwavering belief in the goodness of people\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He was no stranger to that goodness; there are many videos of him sharing it with the defendants that came before him:<\/p>\n

Just to remind you all of the absolute legend Judge Frank Caprio was, he waived the fine for a 100 year old WW2 veteran’s first speeding ticket.
