More diversity crackdown news. Intel, known mostly for their chip production, awarded North Carolina Central University law school a $5M grant in 2021 meant to foster diversity in the legal landscape<\/a>. There was probably hope that Intel would renew the grant after it ran its course. That hope all but vanished not long after the U.S. happened to take a a 10% stake in the company. <\/p>\n

Bloomberg Law<\/a> has coverage:<\/p>\n

NCCU said in a statement to Bloomberg Law that it has received from Intel the \u201cfinal round of funding\u201d needed to run the [Technology Law and Policy Center]\u2026\u201cWhile the formal partnership will not be extended, the Center will continue to foster innovation, drive critical conversations, and prepare students to thrive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape, as the university actively pursues new funding opportunities to sustain and expand its impact,\u201d the school said.<\/p>\n

The silver lining is that the end of the Intel funding isn\u2019t the end of the program. It is vital that law schools adopt to the technological changes that will direct their career, be it by incorporating lessons on how to practice using help from LLMs or knowing how to make the most of if and when the AI bubble pops.
