Her particular version of <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/09\/amy-coney-barretts-fetish-for-phony-reluctance\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">deliberately obtuse reactionary <\/a>that diligently works toward the <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/09\/amy-coney-barrett-already-workshopping-her-president-for-life-concurring-opinion\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">right-wing political goal <\/a>of the moment is garnering attention \u2014 even as the dumb act <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/09\/the-fundamental-dishonesty-of-the-supreme-court\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">enrages.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last week, ACB took her show on the road \u2014 appearing at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. Greeted by <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloomberglaw.com\/us-law-week\/justice-barrett-interrupted-by-protesters-national-book-event\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">protests<\/a>, Barrett shilled <a href=\"\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2023\/08\/amy-coney-barrett-longs-for-the-days-the-supreme-court-could-ruin-your-life-in-obscurity\/x\">familiarly <\/a>disingenuous lines like, \u201cIt\u2019s my job to do what the law requires without respect to what reaction it may elicit from the outside. To do this job you have to be willing to be unpopular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before you strain your eyes rolling them so hard, let\u2019s focus on ACB\u2019s thoughts on the buzz word of the year \u2014 AI.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloomberglaw.com\/litigation\/ai-has-predicted-supreme-court-justices-questions-barrett-says\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported by<\/a> Bloomberg Law, Barrett has it on \u201c\u2018good authority\u2019 that lawyers preparing to argue before the Supreme Court have sought help from AI to identify potential questions they\u2019ll face\u2014and then, \u2018scarily,\u2019 heard those queries repeated from the bench.\u201d Scary? Nah. <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/07\/you-can-replace-supreme-court-lawyers-with-ai-now-honestly-that-tracks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Entirely predicable<\/a>? Yes. <\/p>\n<p>Artificial intelligence is designed to crunch the data and determine what is most likely to happen. Using that to prepare for what questions are likely to appear during oral arguments\u2026 actually makes a ton of sense. Maybe the frightening aspect is how predictable the justices truly are. <\/p>\n<p>The scariest thing about AI in legal is the<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/07\/trial-court-decides-case-based-on-ai-hallucinated-caselaw\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> potential for hallucinating<\/a>, creating facts or law out of whole cloth. But the humans are already doing that! By the time cases \u2014 particularly on hot-button issues \u2014 make it to the High Court, rather than solidify around the (capital T) Truth, the facts often morph. Like <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2022\/09\/school-prayer-coach-told-supreme-court-he-wanted-his-job-back-he-hasnt-bothered-to-show-up\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the school prayer coach case<\/a> where the coach in question was never actually fired, yet references to his being fired were made 15 times during oral arguments. Almost like that \u201cfact\u201d was hallucinated.
