Firms that haven chosen to remain, however, are seeing their partners do the exits for them. Kirkland &amp; Ellis, arguably the most successful law firm on the planet, is one of those firms, and the legal community has taken notice, leading many to wonder if the firm has \u201cmisplayed\u201d Asia. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/americanlawyer\/2025\/09\/23\/the-kirkland-effect-has-the-firm-misplayed-asia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Law.com International<\/a> has additional details: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Eleven partners have left Kirkland &amp; Ellis in Hong Kong since February of this year. Their departures follow those of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/international-edition\/2025\/02\/25\/kirkland-has-lost-10-greater-china-partners-in-12-months\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>10 additional partners who left the firm<\/u><\/a>\u00a0in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-one partner departures from one firm in a single region in less than two years is noteworthy for any law firm, even for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/international-edition\/2025\/03\/17\/kirkland--ellis-revenue-hits-88b-as-pep-jumps-to-92m\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><u>the world\u2019s richest and most prominent<\/u><\/a>\u00a0practice.
