Welp, time is a flat circle. Despite the data that shows that the largest demographic benefiting from food stamps are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propel.app\/snap\/food-stamp-statistics-who-benefits-the-most-from-snap\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">White folks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ucs.org\/alice-reznickova\/how-big-food-corporations-take-advantage-of-snap\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walmart<\/a>, so much of the anti-food stamp discourse has centered on blaming the poor instead of addressing the root cause of their shortcomings. \u201cGo get a job!\u201d holds a lot of sway when you ignore that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/11\/19\/walmart-and-mcdonalds-among-top-employers-of-medicaid-and-food-stamp-beneficiaries.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">most food stamp recipients have jobs<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroot.com\/racist-ai-videos-of-black-women-complaining-about-their-2000070131\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI-supercharged welfare queen deepfakes <\/a>may have been a pleasure to watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@chazonator\/video\/7564925745554918670\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and chew toast at<\/a>, but the reality is that a lot of us are much closer to needing social safety nets than we realize. His bold claims are about as true as you\u2019d expect from someone who thinks his doctors are repeatedly giving him IQ tests.
