Regional business continues to boom across the legal profession, with top Biglaw firms launching new offices in some of the hottest spots around the country in the hope of snatching up some valued market share. In fact, some of the nation\u2019s largest law firms are still eager to \u201cpahk the car in Hahvahd Yahd,\u201d because as we enter the new year, at least one firm has announced its expansion into Boston.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Haynes & Boone recently announced that it has opened an office in Beantown, throwing open its doors earlier this week. Taylor Wilson, the firm\u2019s managing partner, said, \u201cWe have long seen Boston as a natural complement to our strengths across the Northeast.\u201d At the moment, the Top 100 Am Law firm is stationed in a temporary space in One Financial Center, but come spring, the firm is planning to find a permanent location in the same building.<\/p>\n

As noted by the American Lawyer<\/a>, the firm\u2019s Boston outpost will focus on investment management and regulatory matters, complex business litigation, and asset securitization. Here are some additional details on the attorneys who will be working there:<\/p>\n

Richard Kerr, an asset management and investment funds partner who joined from K&L Gates in November, will manage the office. Additionally, trial partner Dan Rosenfeld joined from Sullivan & Worcester in December, and K&L Gates associate counsel Donela Qirjazi, also an asset management and investment funds lawyer, joined this month as a partner in the new Boston office.<\/p>\n

Two others who joined Haynes and Boone in 2025 will also work out of the Boston office\u2014litigation partner Lauren Coppola and asset securitization counsel David Sagalyn.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kerr, a Boston native, is really excited to be back in his hometown. \u201cThe thing that comes across is sort of the tremendous culture of the firm\u2014the desire to do things right\u2014and it really impressed me with the strategic nature of looking at Boston,\u201d he told Am Law. \u201cThe question really for me was why wouldn\u2019t I want to do this?\u201d<\/p>\n
