The investigation did basically everything <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2023\/01\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-supreme-court-leak-report-but-the-justices-were-afraid-to-ask\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">except interview the justices<\/a>, because why interview anyone with both opportunity AND motive? Say, a justice <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2022\/11\/alito-leak-supreme-court-ethics-investigation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">credibly accused of leaking the results of other decisions<\/a> who might have feared that colleagues would water down the maximalist draft before the case came down? No need to check in on anyone like that!<\/p>\n<p>A witchhunt ironically launched to defend an opinion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/abortion-roe-wade-alito-scotus-hale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">based on witchhunters<\/a>. And after several months, it inevitably fizzled. It was <a href=\"https:\/\/knowyourmeme.com\/memes\/were-all-trying-to-find-the-guy-who-did-this\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">we\u2019re all trying to find the guy who did this meme<\/a> if the cops just accepted the man in the hot dog costume at his word.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it turns out they might\u2019ve spent less time worrying about threats from <em>inside<\/em> the building and more time assessing how easily someone could waltz in through the digital front door.<\/p>\n<p>A 24-year-old from Springfield, Tennessee, named Nicholas Moore is set to plead guilty to hacking the Supreme Court\u2019s electronic filing system. Not once or twice, but <em>25 times<\/em> over a two-month span. If the Supreme Court didn\u2019t know he was hanging out in the system for two months, is it still trespassing?
