Former Hogan & Lovells partner turned\u00a0White House<\/a>\u00a0special counsel (in the Trump I regime)\u00a0Ty Cobb<\/a>\u00a0is back on the cable news circuit<\/a> to make some biting comments<\/a> about his former boss. Cobb left the hallowed halls of Biglaw to join the first Trump administration, but he\u00a0quickly left.\u00a0<\/a>Since then, he\u2019s taken to the airwave with his signature facial hair with a\u00a0folksy\u00a0<\/a>way of\u00a0cutting through\u00a0<\/a>the\u00a0right-wing BS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cobb told <\/a>Ari Melber on MS NOW\u2019s\u00a0The Beat<\/em> last night, that it\u2019s pretty obvious that Donald Trump has, erm, lost the plot. Commenting on a recent Trump interview<\/a> that went on for two hours and struggled to remain on point. \u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s anybody outside of the United States who believes that Trump is sane,\u201d said Cobb.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty clear Cob thinks this is a new, and scary, development, because Melber asked, \u201cSince you\u2019ve worked for him in the White House, when you make that reference to \u2018sane,\u2019 do you mean problems with how he approaches things that have long been there, or are you referring to some decline?\u201d<\/p>\n

And Cobb responded, \u201cNo, I think there\u2019s been a significant decline. He\u2019s always been driven by narcissism. But I think the dementia and the cognitive decline are palpable, as do many experts, including many physicians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lots of people have made similar comments about Trump\u2019s mental well-being, but Cobb\u2019s remarks struck a nerve in MAGAland, with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung telling the Daily Beast, \u201cTy Cobb is an eternal stain on the great name he shares with a baseball legend. He should change his name to Ty Loser.\u201d \u2026Which only makes it more likely Cobb will wind up back on TV to get under the collective skin of the administration.<\/p>\n
