Lawyers have been told to \u201cspecialize\u201d since the \u201cgeneral practitioner\u201d model went the wayside. However, the degree of \u201cniche\u201d has been elevated. Ten years ago, a lawyer could niche down into just practicing criminal defense or personal injury. Today, to truly be \u201cniched down\u201d a lawyer needs to find their ideal client and build a practice for them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/attorneyatlawmagazine.com\/stories\/attorney-feature\/alisa-wilkes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">we recently interviewed a plaintiff\u2019s personal injury attorney who only handles cases related to train injuries<\/a><\/span><span>. If your firm practices family law, consider whether you want to specialize in high-net-worth individuals or only representing men or women. You get the idea.
