[The stipends are] a signing bonus wrapped up in public interest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><em><strong>\u2014\u00a0 A Biglaw talent professional, in comments given to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.com\/2026\/03\/25\/public-interest-stipends-open-latest-front-in-law-firms-competition-for-summer-associates-\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Law.com<\/a> under the condition of anonymity, concerning the<a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2026\/03\/top-biglaw-firms-are-offering-50k-stipends-to-1ls-to-secure-2l-summer-spots\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> public interest stipends<\/a> for 1L students who have been accepted into Biglaw firms\u2019 2L summer associate programs.
