In a functioning society, you should be able to rely on a judge to get protection from credible threats. But here, even our judges aren\u2019t safe; death could be waiting behind <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2025\/04\/federal-judges-who-ruled-against-trump-receive-alarming-unsolicited-pizza-deliveries\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an anonymous pizza delivery<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/judges-face-rise-threats-musk-blasts-them-over-rulings-2025-03-05\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As a cringe billionaire<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2026\/02\/chief-justice-roberts-welcome-to-the-cuck-chair\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the President stoke discontent<\/a> whenever court rulings don\u2019t go their way, the judiciary has been left on their own devices to protect themselves. Those devices are, of course, guns. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/news\/article\/state-judges-turning-to-guns-amid-rise-in-judicial-threats\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ABA Journal<\/a> has coverage:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>[S]ome state judges say they don\u2019t feel adequately protected, and some are carrying guns to defend themselves if necessary, according to a story by the New York Times.<br \/>\u2026<br \/>[T]here\u2019s no centralized security force tracking threats against state judges or protecting them, even though the estimated 30,000 state judges handle some of the most contentious cases in the country.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>State judges rely on the same local law enforcement that everyone else does, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/06\/28\/politics\/justices-rule-police-do-not-have-a-constitutional-duty-to-protect.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the same ones that have no legal obligation to protect you<\/a>. The declining murder clearance rate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/04\/29\/1172775448\/people-murder-unsolved-killings-record-high\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">made headlines in 2023<\/a>.
