\u2014\u00a0 Kathleen Schmidt, a publishing veteran, in comments given to the ABA Journal<\/a>, concerning Supreme Court justices\u2019 forays into writing children\u2019s books that sell incredibly well. \u201cPublic figure\/celebrity children\u2019s books make it harder for non-celebrity authors to publish children\u2019s books,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen publishers know a big name can be attached to these books, they (rightly) assume they will sell well.\u201d Thus far, Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Neil Gorsuch have penned \u201ckid lit,\u201d which has earned them tens of thousands of dollars.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
