Same thing every time. The footage looks fine. Settlement numbers. \u201cWe fight for you.\u201d \u201cExperienced and compassionate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Every firm says this. It differentiates nobody.<\/p>\n<p>When somebody is looking for an attorney, they\u2019re not casually browsing. They\u2019re in the worst moment of their life. A divorce that just ended the life they had planned out. A charge that could take away their future. That person isn\u2019t asking, \u201cIs this attorney impressive?\u201d They\u2019re asking, \u201cDoes this person understand what I\u2019m going through?\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-your-credentials-aren-t-useless-but-they-can-t-lead-nbsp\">Your credentials aren\u2019t useless, but they can\u2019t lead.\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Your credentials are the backup \u2014 the thing a prospect reaches for after they\u2019ve already decided you\u2019re their person. <a href=\"https:\/\/wyzowl.com\/video-marketing-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Wyzowl found<\/a> 85% of people say a brand\u2019s video convinced them to buy, but nobody was ever convinced by a list of qualifications. They were convinced because they felt something.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-makes-you-special-is-the-wrong-question\">\u201cWhat makes you special?\u201d is the wrong question.<\/h3>\n<p>Years ago, when I worked at another agency, I remember being on shoots where the entire pre-production consisted of a few surface-level questions and a generic shot list. It was the same questions for every attorney. Same slow-motion walking shots. Same b-roll of the courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>The videos come out looking professional. But swap the logo, and it could be for anybody.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-real-work-happens-before-the-camera-rolls\">The Real Work Happens Before the Camera Rolls<\/h2>\n<p>A good producer will push past the elevator pitch to find the story. Why did this person become a lawyer? Not the resume version. The real one.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I worked with a personal injury attorney who kept directing the conversation back to case results. He did not want to talk about his childhood. But I kept pushing and found out he came from a family of firemen. Generations of them. That drive to help people wasn\u2019t something he picked up in law school. It was in his blood. \u201cIt never left my soul,\u201d he told me.<\/p>\n<p>That became the emotional center of the video, and he almost didn\u2019t bring it up.<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys are trained to talk about credentials and bury the personal stuff \u2014 20 years of professional conditioning will do that. A producer\u2019s job is to undo it long enough to find what\u2019s real.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-strategy-is-the-script\"><strong>The strategy is the script<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n<p>We don\u2019t use teleprompters when we shoot, but that doesn\u2019t mean there\u2019s no plan. By the time I show up, I already know who the client is, what the firm actually stands for, and how I want the story to land. All that prep work means a teleprompter would just slow things down.<\/p>\n<p>I put the cameras off to the side and have a conversation. If I can tell an attorney has rehearsed their answers, I\u2019ll throw something completely unrelated at them to knock them out of performance mode. Then I come back to the real question.<\/p>\n<p>The answer usually changes. I\u2019ve seen firms put a $15,000 video on a website that gets 200 visitors a month and then wonder why the phone isn\u2019t ringing.<\/p>\n<p>The firms where video actually drives cases have a system around it. Brand video on a homepage that\u2019s already pulling organic traffic. Shorter cuts running as paid ads. Clips on their Google Business Profile. Every piece has a job.<\/p>\n<p>One attorney told me people call his firm every day and say, \u201cI saw your video. That\u2019s why I\u2019m calling.\u201d But her firm also has strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.attorneyatwork.com\/law-firm-marketing\/seo-for-lawyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">SEO<\/a> and a marketing agency running campaigns alongside the videos we created for them. The videos earn the trust.
