Attracting talent at the top end is so vital, and being seen as the firm who\u2019s capable of boosting associate compensation across the board\u2014the firm that\u2019s moving the market\u2014is just such a big notch on the belt when it comes to the talent fight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014\u00a0\u00a0Thomas Hanlon, executive director of recruiting firm Buchanan Law, in comments given to the American Lawyer<\/a>, concerning the associate salary increase started by Milbank<\/a> earlier this week, that was quickly matched by McDermott<\/a>, Hueston Hennigan<\/a>, VKHH<\/a>, and Quinn Emanuel<\/a>. Stephanie Biderman, an associate recruiter for Major Lindsey & Africa, agreed, saying, \u201cMy understanding is now OCI is starting really, really early. The fact that we\u2019re seeing this come out now does have a helpful marketing and recruiting angle.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
