Partners are saying to themselves, \u2018We\u2019re doing really well\u2014and we should pass some of that along to the people who are helping us make all this money.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong><em>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Peter Zeughauser, a partner at the Zeughauser Group consultancy, in comments given to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloomberglaw.com\/business-and-practice\/latest-associate-pay-raises-reflect-start-of-prestige-law-era\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bloomberg Law<\/a>, concerning the latest associate salary war that <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2026\/06\/alert-milbank-does-it-again-associate-salaries-are-going-up\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">began with Milbank<\/a> and has since spread to more than <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2026\/06\/associate-compensation-scorecard-the-2026-summer-of-salary-increases\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a dozen Biglaw and elite boutique firms<\/a>. \u201cThe dramatic increases in what top partners are making are reported in the news and well-known to associates,\u201d he said. \u201cToo much disparity is bad for morale.
