The 2026 Silver Gavel Awards Honorees<\/h2>\n
This year, the Gavel Awards screening committee named 31 finalists after reviewing 160 entries across all media and arts categories \u2014 books, commentaries, documentaries, drama and literature, magazines, multimedia, newspapers, radio and television. In May, the ABA Standing Committee on Gavel Awards announced the 14 award winners and honorable mentions, which we highlight below, with the finalists. <\/p>\n
ABA President Michelle A. Behnke<\/a>\u00a0will present\u00a0the awards during the 2026 ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago. Congratulations to all the winners and honorees!<\/p>\n BOOK FINALISTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n Silver Gavel Award: <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>Can\u2019t Look Away: The Case Against Social Media,\u201d<\/a> DCTV & Bloomberg News.<\/p>\n Honorable Mention:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cRatified.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n Silver Gavel:\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cLilly.\u201d<\/a> Film based on the life of Lilly Ledbetter and \u201cGrace and Grit\u201d by Lilly Ledbetter and Lanier Scott Isom.<\/p>\n For the 2025 Silver Gavel Awards, the screening committee reviewed 122 entries and named 25 finalists. ABA President William Bay presented the winners and finalists with Silver Gavels in August during the 2025 ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto.
