When you take a settlement with Donald Trump, you are not actually buying a legal peace and you are not actually buying certainty as to your obligations. At all points, the chance that the president\u2019s ire could be enforced against them legally has always only been one of the points of pressure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014\u00a0<\/i>Walter Olson<\/a>, senior fellow at the Cato Institute\u2019s Robert A. Levy Center for Constitutional Studies, in comments given to Bloomberg Law<\/a>, concerning the nine law firms \u2014 Paul, Weiss<\/span>; Kirkland & Ellis<\/span>; Latham & Watkins<\/span>; Cadwalader<\/span>; Skadden<\/span>; Willkie Farr<\/span>; Milbank<\/span>; A&O Shearman<\/span>; and Simpson Thacher \u2014 that made deals with Trump to get out from under his onerous and unconstitutional executive orders<\/span>. Those firms were recently subpoenaed by the Justice Department<\/a> in relation to the brokering of those deals by Trump lawyer, Boris Epshteyn.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
