DISCO is moving beyond e-discovery, the technology that has been its bread and butter ever since its founding in 2013, to launch what it describes as the industry\u2019s first unified litigation solution, an AI-native application that combines the facts of a matter with relevant U.S. case law.<\/p>\n

The product, which the company has not yet named, is currently in pilot with five law firms on live cases, with general availability planned for early next year.<\/p>\n

In an announcement today<\/a>, DISCO said that the initial product will bring together a matter\u2019s facts and the controlling law, alongside what it says are patent-pending, litigation-specific workflows, all accessible through what it describes metaphorically as a single pane of glass.<\/p>\n

\u201cDISCO\u2019s unified litigation solution brings your facts and the controlling law together in a single pane of glass that connects your evidence, claims, and legal authority within and across matters, and evolves with every new fact,\u201d the product\u2019s website<\/a> says.<\/p>\n

Over time, DISCO says, it plans to build out a full suite of integrated capabilities spanning the life of a matter from filing to verdict, covering fact development, drafting, case strategy, trial preparation and case management.<\/p>\n

By carrying case context and prior work product forward across those stages, DISCO said, firms will be able to surface institutional knowledge now scattered across their lawyers and matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe a solution that understands a case and the law and carries that context forward will give litigation teams a strategic advantage and unlock a wealth of institutional knowledge and expertise that today sits siloed within individual lawyers and individual cases,\u201d said CEO Eric Friedrichsen in announcing the product. \u201cThis is litigation evolved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Crum, DISCO\u2019s chief product, technology and strategy officer, characterized the launch as \u201cthe first step in what we see as a command center for complex litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The announcement included an endorsement from one of the pilot firms, Am Law 200 firm Quarles & Brady.\u00a0\u201cMost legal tools are built for lawyers, but not litigators,\u201d said litigation partner Brandon Krajewski. \u201cDISCO\u2019s approach is exciting because it brings together the facts of a matter and the relevant law in a single platform specifically engineered for the stakes and complexity of modern litigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

DISCO says the solution will also give customers significant control to build their own workflows, agents and tools, so that firms\u2019 own best practices shape how the platform works within and across matters.<\/p>\n
