I have already covered the conference and several of the week\u2019s [\u2026]<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u2019s ILTACON, the annual conference of the International Legal Technology Association, brought what may have been the busiest news cycle I can remember for this conference, with a torrent of product announcements dominated by two themes: agentic AI and the Model Context Protocol.<\/p>\n<p>I have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/have-we-reached-peak-legal-tech-sure-felt-that-way-at-iltacon-this-week.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">already covered the conference<\/a> and several of the week\u2019s biggest stories \u2013 including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/lexisnexis-unveils-legal-intelligence-engine-rebuilding-protege-around-dynamic-agentic-orchestration.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LexisNexis\u2019s Legal Intelligence Engine<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/thomson-reuters-launches-thomson-its-own-proprietary-llm-trained-on-westlaw-and-practical-law-content.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thomson Reuters\u2019 launch of its Thomson LLM<\/a>, and Clio\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/pablo-arredondo-casetext-cofounder-and-legal-ai-pioneer-joins-clio-to-lead-its-expansion-into-the-judiciary.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hiring of Pablo Arredondo to lead a new judiciary initiative<\/a>. Now, as I dig out from a hectic week, I am rounding up here other notable announcements from the conference.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll do this in four parts:<\/p>\n<p>This is part 3, documents, data and AI.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: I used Claude to assist in creating the summaries.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>iManage Announces Next-Gen Platform, New AI Capabilities, and Thomson Reuters Partnership<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The document management company iManage made three major announcements during ILTACON.<\/p>\n<p>First, it announced the October general availability of its next-generation platform, designed to bring knowledge, context and intelligence together on a secure, governed foundation to help organizations drive AI adoption and customer value.<\/p>\n<p>Second, it announced a new integration with Google Cloud\u2019s Gemini Enterprise for Legal that brings governed enterprise knowledge to industry-specific AI agents, helping legal teams automate complex workflows with greater speed and accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, it announced an expanded strategic partnership with Thomson Reuters to deliver governed AI-powered legal workflows. The integration brings CoCounsel Legal, HighQ, Noetica and Legal Tracker together with governed iManage knowledge to support connected AI-powered legal work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>See also my interview with iManage CEO Neil Araujo:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ILAoVQ4taIo?si=UNewJv5pP4Kf3ZjL\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"> <\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><strong>NetDocuments Expands Its MCP Ecosystem As Google Joins<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>NetDocuments announced an expansion of its MCP ecosystem, with Google Gemini Enterprise becoming the latest frontier AI provider to join, alongside Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity, as well as legal AI partners Harvey and Legora.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTogether with our partners, we\u2019re making it easier for firms to use the AI tools they choose with the trusted legal context already in\u00a0NetDocuments,\u201d the company said. \u201cAnd because that context is built once and shared across every connection, each new tool and user a firm adds makes the same investment worth more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NetDocuments says its Legal Context Graph provides structured, matter-specific context that goes beyond the search results and document text most MCP connections deliver.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement follows the company\u2019s recent release of its Legal Context Engineering Benchmark Report, which found that the same frontier AI model using the Legal Context Graph cut the cost per correct answer by 48% while maintaining accuracy.<\/p>\n<p>This news came days after NetDocuments\u2019 announcement of its new Tabular Review\/Legal Authorities features, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/netdocuments-adds-tabular-review-and-automatic-extraction-of-legal-authorities-to-its-platform.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I covered on Aug. 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Entegrata Doubles Law Firm Roster, Announces MCP Server Plans<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Legal data intelligence company Entegrata marked 12 months of growth since last year\u2019s ILTACON, saying it has more than doubled its client roster to 20 firms \u2014 recently adding Cleary Gottlieb, Wilson Sonsini, and Kilpatrick Townsend &amp; Stockton \u2014 nearly tripled its team, and surpassed 50 connectors with the addition of an iManage integration.<\/p>\n<p>The company says it now ingests nearly one billion rows of data daily across its clients\u2019 data lakehouse environments.<\/p>\n<p>Entegrata also introduced Metrics, a semantic layer that centralizes the definitions and calculations behind a firm\u2019s data for consistent reporting, and announced development of an MCP server to connect its platform to the AI tools firms are adopting.<\/p>\n<p>That roadmap is led by Andrew Baker, who joined in July as chief AI and data strategy officer from Simpson Thacher \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/07\/entegrata-hires-simpson-thacher-ai-leader-andrew-baker-to-head-new-ai-enablement-product-line.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a hire I covered at the time<\/a>. Baker said the MCP server gives firms optionality: point whichever AI tool fits a use case at a single, governed source of the firm\u2019s own data, rather than getting locked into one vendor\u2019s model.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA year ago, a lot of firms were still debating whether they needed a dedicated data layer. Now they are competing on how fast they can release one,\u201d said Tom Baldwin, Entegrata\u2019s founder and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoubling our client base and nearly tripling our team in twelve months tells us the market has made its decision. Firms want their people focused on the reporting and distinctive AI products that serve their attorneys and clients, not on the plumbing underneath. We take that work off their plate.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Wolters Kluwer Announces Next Evolution of Libra<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Wolters Kluwer announced an advancement of Libra, its legal AI workspace. Having integrated Wolters Kluwer content into Libra throughout the first half of 2026, the company says laws, rulings, expert commentaries, and practical guidance will now be linked to one another, and to the matter at hand, in a connected knowledge graph of expert-curated legal knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>The company says this will enable customers to surface the right authority faster, get answers\u00a0with\u00a0even clearer\u00a0reasoning and sources,\u00a0perform drafting guided by\u00a0matter-specific\u00a0context, and have greater confidence in every outcome.<\/p>\n<p>In internal testing, Libra\u00a0already\u00a0consistently produces higher-quality, better-sourced and more traceable answers than leading general-purpose AI models, the company says.<\/p>\n<p>It attributes that to the fact that Libra runs on Wolters Kluwer\u2019s distinctive body of professionally curated legal content that is created and continuously\u00a0maintained\u00a0by a network of thousands of practicing expert authors and\u00a0domain\u00a0editors.<\/p>\n<p>Martin O\u2019Malley, CEO of Wolters Kluwer\u00a0Legal &amp; Regulatory, said this is the biggest change to the company\u2019s legal content since making it digital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur\u00a0knowledge graph\u00a0structures\u00a0our unique repositories of\u00a0legal information\u00a0in the way global legal professionals actually\u00a0think:\u00a0as a network of laws, rulings, expert\u00a0commentaries\u00a0and concepts that\u00a0are deeply connected,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen AI understands these relationships\u00a0across the full depth of our content\u00a0rather than simply retrieving similar text, answers can become more\u00a0nuanced, contextual,\u00a0and\u00a0still\u00a0fully traceable.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Thomson Reuters Brings Next-Gen CoCounsel Legal to General Availability; Greenberg Traurig Is First Announced Deployment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Beyond the Thomson LLM launch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/thomson-reuters-launches-thomson-its-own-proprietary-llm-trained-on-westlaw-and-practical-law-content.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I covered Monday<\/a>, Thomson Reuters made two more CoCounsel announcements.<\/p>\n<p>On Aug. 20, it announced the general availability of the next generation of CoCounsel Legal, the fully agentic AI experience designed to carry legal professionals from research and issue analysis to trusted work product within a single workflow \u2014 the culmination of the early-access rollout I covered in June.<\/p>\n<p>TR says the product is engineered to reason, plan, and execute at the level of a senior associate, grounded in Westlaw and Practical Law content.<\/p>\n<p>Then on Aug. 26, TR announced that global law firm Greenberg Traurig has deployed the next generation of CoCounsel Legal across its global offices \u2014 the product of a four-year collaboration in which the firm\u2019s attorneys received early access, participated in beta testing, and helped shape product development.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Clio Puts Vincent Inside Clio Operate, Launches Docket Insights<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Beyond its recent announcements of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/pablo-arredondo-casetext-cofounder-and-legal-ai-pioneer-joins-clio-to-lead-its-expansion-into-the-judiciary.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hiring of Pablo Arredondo<\/a> and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawnext.com\/2026\/08\/clio-grows-clio-grow-with-launch-of-grow-ai-providing-24-7-intake-agents.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launch of Grow AI<\/a>, both of which I have already covered, Clio made two more announcements during the conference.<\/p>\n<p>First, coming in November, Vincent, its legal AI, will be available within Clio Operate, letting the AI work inside the system where complex legal matters are managed. John Foreman, Clio\u2019s chief product officer, called it the foundation for a more capable kind of legal AI that can reason with the depth of the work.<\/p>\n<p>Second, Clio launched Docket Insights, giving Vincent direct access to Clio\u2019s own database of roughly one billion U.S. federal, state, bankruptcy, and administrative court records.<\/p>\n<p>Vincent can search dockets, read and summarize filings, identify similar motions and fact patterns, and surface how comparable issues have unfolded in other proceedings.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Avvoka Launches Curate to Create and Manage Deal Templates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>AI-powered legal drafting company Avvoka launched Curate, a standalone product the company says will transform how firms create and manage deal templates.<\/p>\n<p>Curate turns a law firm\u2019s best transaction documents into a gold-standard template from which it can begin drafting, the company says.<\/p>\n<p>It uses AI to review a firm\u2019s prior deal documents and surface the strongest version of each clause, no matter where it appears in the documents.<\/p>\n<p>A lawyer then selects the best position that the firm stands behind, and the fallbacks, clause by clause.
