The event brings together a community of law firm technologists who share the most innovative use cases their firms are implementing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their respective presentations covered topics like navigating a multifirm merger, powering AI systems with vetted data, boosting Chambers rankings, and transforming the RFP response process. Lito, the company\u2019s award-winning Legal AI agent, is now present throughout all of these workflows.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the presentations from the law firm representatives \u2014 Carrie Remhof of Troutman Pepper Locke, along with Cindy Bare and Casey Rauschenberg of FBT Gibbons \u2014 ended, Marwaha posed a question for the ILTACON audience of legal technologists.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHow are you going to compete with those two firms you just saw?\u201d he said. \u201cBecause in reality, they\u2019re going to keep winning. They just are.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019re set up the right way. They have the right culture. They\u2019re using technology the right way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By the Numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While Litera focuses on getting the maximum value from a law firm\u2019s data, the company\u2019s CEO shared some data of his own. He presented sample metrics from a recent survey of over 100 customers:<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2022 95% of respondents believe <\/strong>they have already made their bets on AI. For Marwaha, this is a shocking result.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that, at his company, the areas they\u2019ve bet on 18 months ago probably aren\u2019t even involved in the operations today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s initial innings,\u201d he said. \u201cSo don\u2019t be afraid to keep researching and looking. It\u2019s definitely tiring, but I would counsel against thinking that you\u2019re done.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2022 85% of respondents have made decisions on AI <\/strong>because of client pressure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was a particularly important theme for Litera at ILTACON. The company sponsored a <a href=\"https:\/\/abovethelaw.com\/2026\/09\/when-clients-ask-about-ai-how-should-firms-respond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">separate AI masterclass panel<\/a> on communicating AI use to clients, led by Litera\u2019s general counsel. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those panelists agreed that firms must \u201cshow their work\u201d when describing technology use to GCs, adding that simply sharing a firm\u2019s tech stack would probably be poorly received.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marwaha echoed this theme at the ILTACON company update.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firms must be \u201cmaniacal\u201d about client service in the AI age, he said \u2014 and firms that don\u2019t adapt to technology might as well consider themselves a failing business.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor the management team, I understand you all don\u2019t always have a say in that,\u201d he said. \u201cBut you do have the right to raise your hand in a meeting and say, \u2018Folks, we\u2019re not doing enough.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2022 53% of respondents are worried<\/strong> about the activities of their competitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSo you\u2019re just pretty much pointing at each other saying, \u2018Well, they\u2019re doing it, so I\u2019m doing it,\u2019\u201d according to Marwaha.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These types of actions are just checking a box without a strategic approach, he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u2022 60% of respondents say their law firm\u2019s data<\/strong> is what keeps them separate from the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Marwaha endorsed this idea, and followed it up with a challenge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHow are you harnessing [the data?]\u201d he asked. \u201cHow are you using it? What are those technologies you\u2019re investing in? Are you just looking at the shiny object?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 And, finally, <strong>99% is an unacceptable rate of accuracy <\/strong>for outputs from a technology tool \u2014 Litera\u2019s own ethos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the legal industry, professionals have to be right, Marwaha said. This makes it unacceptable for technology to introduce any level of uncertainty.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u201899% good\u2019 means \u2018100% of the time you\u2019re wrong,\u2019\u201d he said, \u201cbecause you\u2019ve missed something in that workflow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Making an Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To predict the future for Litera, Marwaha points to its history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Litera has long been known as a brand that focuses on drafting and helping lawyers review and negotiate their agreements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the past five years, Litera has increased its capabilities in the business of law, bringing on Foundation, CRM and ERM systems, and partnering with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postilize.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">law firm relationship management company Postilize<\/a> to invest in these types of offerings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s sharpening a focus on helping firms win new business, in addition to more effectively managing the business they have.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI really want to help partners and law firms grow, not by increasing their billable rate, but by increasing the amount of matters they sell,\u201d Marwaha said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s the easiest place to make a long-term impact on a firm.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Expanding Lito\u2019s Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, the Legal AI agent Lito is central to these efforts.
