\u2014<\/i><\/span> <\/em>\u00a0Kevin Reddington<\/a>, Lindsay Clancy\u2019s<\/a> defense attorney, in comments made during an appearance on Good Morning America<\/a>, where he appealed directly to President Donald Trump to pardon his client. Clancy pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her three children, and her five-week trial recently ended in a mistrial after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. There\u2019s one problem with Reddington\u2019s request: Clancy, who was not convicted, was charged under Massachusetts law, and a president\u2019s pardon power applies only to federal offenses. <\/strong><\/p>\n
