The event was pitched to 1Ls as a chance to connect with the Weil team, learn more about the firm, and \u201cexplore what a career here could look like.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fair question! It\u2019s just that Weil\u2019s own lawyers have been asking it all week.<\/p>\n

In the past few days, the firm brought in restructuring counsel and started discussing a possible wind-down<\/a>, the head of its capital markets group told his associates to start looking for work elsewhere<\/a>, and partners have been \u201cfrantically sending r\u00e9sum\u00e9s\u201d<\/a> to rivals. It\u2019s tough to pitch a 1L on a long career at Weil when the firm\u2019s current associates have just been told to go find one somewhere else.<\/p>\n
