Earlier today, the advice for Weil Gotshal & Manges lawyers<\/a> was blunt: look out for number one and enter the lateral market post haste. Turns out at least one Weil practice group leader agrees.<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg Law<\/a>, Alex Lynch, the head of Weil\u2019s capital markets group, told his associates in a group meeting Tuesday to \u201clook for employment elsewhere\u201d as the firm\u2019s future is currently a giant question mark. For now, the associates still have jobs and will keep billing, billing, billing. But Lynch didn\u2019t give them any timeline for how long that will last.<\/p>\n

Makes you wonder exactly what Lynch knows\u2026 The Lawyer is reporting<\/a> a \u201ccrunch\u201d meeting for the partnership is scheduled for today, and speculation is high that dissolution is on the agenda.<\/p>\n

This was Tuesday. That\u2019s the same day the Financial Times reported that Weil had brought in Davis Polk bankruptcy lawyer Brian Resnick<\/a>, with a wind-down among the options being discussed.<\/p>\n
