ALTON, IL—Simmons Hanly Conroy and the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) are grateful to the Alton community and mesothelioma advocates nationwide for making the 18th Annual Alton Miles for Meso 5K Race and 3K Fun Run/Walk a success. Held Sept. 19, 2026, the event raised more than $20,000 to benefit ADAO and its mission to prevent asbestos exposure and eliminate asbestos-caused diseases.

Simmons Hanly Conroy hosted the annual event alongside Metro Tri Club of Edwardsville, Illinois.

This year’s Miles for Meso celebrated Alton’s rich jazz history and its connection to legendary musician Miles Davis, who was born in Alton in 1926. The jazz-inspired theme brought a new rhythm to a longstanding tradition of bringing together mesothelioma warriors, families, advocates and community members for a shared purpose.
