Will AI Replace Legal Ops? 

The foundational role of legal ops isn’t going anywhere, Reese notes. 

If anything, it’s getting bigger, because someone still has to manage the growing web of interdependencies between all the new tools being layered into the department.

What Foundational Legal Ops Looks Like

Reese describes two paths for companies today. Some are still building the basics: budget control, e-billing, staffing and intake processes that show what work is actually happening in the department. 

Others already have that foundation and are ready to use AI to turn the department on its head over the next decade.
