Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the immediate firing of James Hundley as interim U.S. attorney of the Eastern District of Virginia after the district’s federal judges unanimously appointed Hundley under 28 U.S.C. § 546(d) to an office previously led by a disqualified prosecutor who pursued criminal cases against two of President Donald Trump’s political adversaries.
