Dick Durbin (D-IL), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, in comments given during an event hosted by the Chicago Bar Association, titled “Under Siege: The American Judiciary and the Rule of Law,” concerning the fact that judicial nominees that have appeared before Durbin’s committee are now refusing to respond to simple questions like “what happened on January 6?” or “who won the 2020 election?” for fear of possibly facing Donald Trump’s ire over their answers.
