For law students, technology law isn’t just about keeping up with the latest gadgets and apps anymore. Between the explosion of artificial intelligence, rapidly evolving privacy rules, cybersecurity threats, cryptocurrency, and seemingly endless questions about who owns what in the digital world, lawyers who understand how technology and the law intersect are becoming more valuable by the day. As innovation continues to move faster than lawmakers and regulators can possibly hope to keep up, technology law offers students the chance to build a career at the cutting edge of some of the legal profession’s biggest — and most lucrative — questions.

The National Jurist’s preLaw magazine recently released its ranking of the best law schools for technology and the law on its Technology Law Honor Roll, highlighting schools for the strength of their programs. Here’s the methodology that was used:

preLaw magazine grades law schools based on the breadth of their curricular offerings. The scores are figured as follows: 30% for a concentration, 24% for a clinic, 12% for a center, 12% for an externship, 9% for a journal, 8% for a student group, 5% for a certificate and added value for additional offerings.

Without further ado, according to preLaw magazine, these are the law schools that earned A+ grades for their technology law programs (listed in alphabetical order):

  • American University
  • Case Western Reserve University
  • DePaul University
  • Georgetown University
  • Santa Clara Law
  • Seattle University
  • SMU Dedman School of Law
  • Suffolk University
  • University of Colorado
  • University of Illinois
  • University of Maryland
  • University of Washington
