Been keeping the formation of that ~$1.6B revenue in 2023 firm on your radar? The good news is that Troutman Pepper and Locke Lord still intend on combining. The date of that merger is getting pushed back a bit, but don’t worry. Doing things the right way is often worth the extra time. Law.com has coverage:

Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders’ merger with Locke Lord is looking to wrap up by the end of 2024, according to several sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Sources, including former partners from the firms, said their initial understanding was that the firms planned to have a partnership vote on the merger in July to go into effect in October; however, sources said, more recent communications suggested the merger was likely to go into effect by the end of 2024.…There’s a “building wave of enthusiasm” at the talks progress, [Kent] Zimmermann said, because the firms share a strategic focus on six industry sectors. Those sectors are energy, insurance, health care and life sciences, private equity, financial services and real estate.

We look forward to Troutman Locke’s debut at the end of the year!
