Likely voters in key swing states deeply disapprove of marijuana being classified as a Schedule 1 narcotic, and roughly four out of five support legalization for medical use, according to a new series of polls.
As reported by Marijuana Moment, just 14% of Pennsylvania respondents approve of the inclusion of marijuana on the most dangerous drug schedule, with Michigan and Wisconsin at 19% and 20%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the overwhelming majority of respondents in all three states support medical use legalization, and strong majorities back banking reforms and legalized recreational use as well.
The polls were conducted by The Tarrance Group and underwritten by the Scotts-Miracle Gro Company.
As Brian Herrington of Miracle-Gro put it (in a press release): “Regardless of party affiliation, voter support for marijuana reform is as strong as ever.”
