Bonus season isn’t over yet!
The post Top 20 Biglaw Firm Announces Bonus Structure For Associates appeared first on Above the Law.
We may be beyond the time that Larry David believes it’s acceptable to wish someone a happy new year, but that doesn’t mean 2024 is completely forgotten in Biglaw. Especially not when there are bonuses still to give out.
Today, Goodwin Procter — a firm with over $2 billion in gross revenue, making it #16 on the Am Law 100 — announced bonuses. As with the tippy top of Biglaw firms, Goodwin is giving out both annual bonuses as special bonuses to reward associates for all their hard work last year.
The bonus schedule at Goodwin is as follows:
Salary Class | Bonus | Special Bonus |
2023 | $20,000 | $6,000 |
2022 | $30,000 | $10,000 |
2021 | $57,500 | $15,000 |
2020 | $75,000 | $20,000 |
2019 | $90,000 | $25,000 |
2018 | $105,000 | $25,000 |
2017+ | $115,000 | $25,000 |
Bonuses will be paid on January 24th. Associates who billed at least 1,950 hours during the last fiscal year are eligible for bonuses. Pro bono time and up to 100 hours of Culture & Innovation (marketing activities, knowledge management, Business Unit and Legal Practice Area initiatives, diversity initiatives, training and participation on firm committees) count towards that threshold. Full memo available on the next page.
Remember everyone, we depend on your tips to stay on top of important bonus updates, so when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Matches”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.
