Work volume is the number one challenge facing legal professionals, according to a survey by Consilio LLC (hat tip to Law360).
Consilio surveyed 212 legal, risk, and compliance professionals in corporate law departments and law firms around the world. Nearly half of them (48%) identified managing and prioritizing the volume of work as the top strategic challenge.
Noting that this is the third year in a row that workload was named the foremost concern, the report, “Beyond the Gridlock: Overcoming the Challenges of Modern Legal Work,” suggests that the pressure legal teams face is fueled by the increasing volume and complexity of global data.
Other significant challenges cited by the respondents include risk management (34%), operational efficiency (31%), strategic decision-making (29%), and budget restrictions (25%).
